Acting on behalf of the BBC Pension Fund we advised on the sub-division and external changes to this prime retail unit in Harrogate. The anchor tenant, Miss Selfridge, had vacated leaving our client with a significant void. Despite being located in the Conservation Area, FWPD secured permission to subdivide the unit to create three separate lettable areas. The proposal included changes to the shop fronts and, controversially, a change of use from A1 to enable A3, which was strictly contrary to policy. FWPD managed the entire planning process and thanks to our successful planning case our clients were able to re-lease the three smaller units, including a new flagship outlet for Costa Coffee.
